I was reading a thread on a wargaming site about what's happening in the Straits of Hormuz and someone was protesting that Iran pushing the bounds of the nuclear agreement (they're resumed enrichment) was going to get them attacked, even if they hadn't been behind the tanker attacks, which struck me as assuming that being attacked was a negative for Iran. My reply turned into a bit of an epic, so I figure I might as well repeat it here/store it for future reference:

But would an attack be a negative for Iran? What happens if we let a little game theory loose on the potential outcomes?
(NB: Who carried out the tanker attacks isn't actually relevant to this, I'm open to several possibilities there)

Cut for geo-political whatiffery )

... was that I got to watch Trumpcare: The Return of the Undead Shambling Horror being defeated live on twitter through the comments of the disabled Americans with most to lose.

The message to take away from this: 45, and 49 Republican Senators thought 15m more Americans without healthcare cover was an improvement.

And then the Disabled People Destroy SF kickstarter funded. Sweet!

Donald Trump berates London mayor over response to terror attacks

Trump deliberately misquotes Sadiq Khan, the Labour Mayor of London (his son did the same thing after the Westminster attack):

Tory ministers leap to Sadiq Khan's defence:

You pretty much have to think Sadiq Khan being a Muslim isn't a coincidence in the Trumps' pattern of misquoting.

Penny Mordaunt's the Minister for Disabled People - I don't think I've ever had a good think to say about her before!

* The full statement is longer, but Mordaunt tweeted a pic, not text, and I haven't found the full text, OTOH this shows the deliberate misquote, Sadiq Khan was addressing the police presence.

Less than two hours after hearing of the London attack and Trump is trying to use it for political advantage. I think that's the first time I've called a world leader 'bigoted scum'.
