Grr, Email!!!
Aug. 14th, 2015 12:32 amI thought I had all the issues with my email setup sorted out, but I'm being driven round the bend by the one I stumbled over today.
I haven't actually needed to send any outgoing email as yet, but got asked for a quote earlier by a disability journalist I know, so went to send it, and that's when I discovered my Outlook setup has an issue with outgoing email - it won't send any.
I think it's probably to do with the SMTP setup, but incoming is working, so I know the username and password are valid, and I've successfully sent a message from the web interface, so it isn't email as a whole, so it's almost certainly the SMTP setup, but what's irritating is it doesn't just ask you for your password once, or three times, or even ten times, it's been asking every couple of minutes for the past six hours, and automatically switches the cursor into the password box of the pop-up, no matter what else you were doing at the time, which is remarkably irritating!!!
I've tried deleting the outgoing message from the Outbox, but Outlook doesn't want to know, probably because it's stuck in some indeterminate state. I susoect I'm going to be pestering Virgin tech support in the morning!
