I had coffee with friends this lunchtime, and we're getting to that age where catching-up includes recent medical procedures.

So I told them about last Thursday's colonoscopy, and that I was waiting for the word on the polyp that was removed, which was due sometime in 7 to 14 days.

Phone: Biddly-boop.

Pull phone out, realise who it is from the last time that number called me.

"Ah, let me just go into the next room to take this"

And thank god it's clear.

So that was a relieved return to the conversation.

** I could have had sedation, but only if I had someone to drive me home and keep an eye on me overnight, which I couldn't arrange
