Ow, dammit. Flipped the chair.

While going across the not-actually-a-proper-kerb-cut in the disabled car park in Rochester.

(Yes, the one place where everyone needs a kerb-cut has to make do with 'we'll just set the normal kerb at a bit of an angle').

It was one of those slow-motion 'oh, shit, I'm going over sideways here, aren't I?' things. The chair finally decided it was going over, and spilled me out on the way. The chair's okay, but I landed on my hip, which really isn't happy.

I feel a letter to the council coming on.

I've had that happen. Not fun in the slightest. Luckily, I had my seat belt on, and there happened to be people nearby to help get me upright again, otherwise I would have been up a particularly unpleasant creek without a paddle (Motor chair -- would not have been able to manage alone).

I feel a letter to the council coming on.

Nod. "They" need to learn that painting it blue and calling it an "Accommodation" doesn't make it so.

Yeah. Sometimes it takes an "Oh, Shit!" moment for a comorbidity to reveal itself (though I must admit disliking the "morbidity" part of that term).

In my experience, the typicals are so distracted by seeing a fellow biped in a non-upright position that they hardly notice anything else. So it's likely that, if any of them realized your inability, it probably wouldn't have been until later, as it was for you.

Ouch!

Yes, the council need to know that this is NOT ok!

You could have broken your wrist/shoulder/leg/hip!
