Anyone thinking of going? 

A non-DW friend just noted she's planning to go, and seeing as I missed out on Eastercon over health stuff I though I might take a look. I think Heathrow's a bit too far for commuting the same way I did Worldcon, so I'll have to look at room prices and figure out if it's affordable. Comment from anyone who went last year also received with interest.

Tickets go up on the first, so  some advantage to booking quickly.

I'd consider it, if I could justify the cost. The commute from Bristol, however, is likewise unrealistic.

Undecided given the access situation - they're advising wheelies to book at the hotel they didn't negotiate a rate with, which is a bit too expensive for my tastes - adds about £50 a night to the costs. I think I'll accept missing the current rate and take a look at the detailed routes from the other hotels using Google Street View when I'm wider awake than I am today.

If the con hotel has limited accessibility, couldn't they have negotiated a better room rate at the other hotel?

I think, the web-page isn't entirely clear, access at the main hotel is okay, but they're sold out, and the issue is the route between the secondary hotels and the main one -they say the road crossing doesn't have proper kerb-cuts, but I don't know if that's the only issue, and so wheelies are being advised to book at a fourth hotel they didn't manage to negotiate a con rate with, which costs about £50 more a night.

It might be worth suggesting to them that they reserve some rooms in the main hotel as priority for wheelchair users in future - it looks like there will be quite a few of us.

Agreed. This is definitely putting me off attending. I'm considering using the money I would use for this to extend my holiday in Greece instead - if there wasn't the access issue I probably wouldn't do that.
