ETA: what I hadn't noticed initially was that Rubio specifically calls it out for being a DEI_A_ initiative. Apparently accessibility as a whole is now un-American.

I suspect the "reasoning," such as it is, is some combination of "Roman" reminding them of the Roman Empire, and someone thinking that Calibri is Biden or Obama's doing.

They also want to get rid of sign language interpreters for Trump press briefings. I mean, they stopped using them earlier this year and they are appealing a court order that they are supposed to bring them back. They really do object to disability access.
