The Joys of Withdrawal
Mar. 13th, 2015 10:18 am Woke up feeling a bit off, and not quite certain why.
Pottered around getting gradually worse, "Damn, this is starting to feel flu-like - Oh, hell!"
Goes to count number of butrans patches left in the box - yep, completely forgot to change it on Tuesday, and now I'm in full-blown opiate withdrawal.
New patch is on now, but it'll take several hours to take effect, in the meantime, I'll be over there in the corner, shivering.
*Headdesk*

Date: 2015-03-13 08:15 pm (UTC)Forgetting your patch is idiocy.
Having a pancreatitis flare-up is unfortunate.
Dealing with a pancreatitis flare-up with no opiates in your body, while also fielding full-on withdrawal is Murphy taking the piss on your life.
I'm okay now bar aching ribs (probably from retching), but 10AM through 1PM were pure hell. I'd actually started putting stuff I'd need in the rucksack in the event I ended up dialling 999 again, but fortunately it wore off eventually, though I spent the afternoon in bed to recover (and reading Men at Arms to take my mind off it).
Hopefully that's not a combination of circumstances I ever have to deal with again!
