Isn't this the wrong way around?

My sister rang me this afternoon to check I was okay.

She's the one with Covid, I'm the one who's fine.

I think the issue was she'd sent me an email and hadn't heard back - which was because it hadn't arrived. Plus she's bored.

Her PCR test came back positive, but she's still waiting to hear about the antivirals - that's supposed to start with a phone call with a couple of days. Ironically she did a lateral flow test today and it claimed she didn't have Covid *headdesk*

I think the lateral flow tests are more likely to give false negatives than false positives. The test may indicate that she's no longer contagious, even if she's still sick in the sense of having symptoms.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for non-contagious, but I think she said today's came back positive again.

From what I understand, throat swabs are more accurate for Omicron than nasal swabs given the general areas of viral load. The next lateral flow test she takes, if she's confident she can swab her actual throat (instead of the back of the tongue), I think that would be a better bet than the nasal swab. <3

The one that came back negative was a swab both type!
