Incoming Wheels

Phone call: "Hi, this is the wheelchair department, can we deliver a wheelchair tomorrow?'

Me:'Um. er - just hang on a minute while I get up to speed, I haven't heard anything back from Wheelchair Services since requesting an assessment."

Them: 'Oh, they've just decided to do their own thing again, have they?'

I guess it's better than the outright refusal to see me at the first attempt, but I was sort of hoping for something that would look at my actual needs (and size and shape!). I'm presuming what I'm getting is low-end cheapest-of-the-cheap, and as they don't know what my needs are, chances of meeting them are fairly slim!

Online friends have reported similar experiences, one even predicted the brand (Invacare Action 3) - which looks an awful lot like the hire chair

kaberett hoped I hadn't paid for when we met at Worldcon.

Yup, I figure it will do as a spare if nothing else.
