Forget the Birkenhead drill, meet the Effective Altruist drill

(The story's about a month old, but I initially missed it  and only noticed it when Sam Bankman-Fried had his bail revoked for attempted witness tampering)

Forget 'Women and Children first', apparently the techbro's* at Sam Bankman-Fried's FTX Foundation wanted to buy Nauru and turn it into a doomsday bunker for 'effective altruists' and genetically enhanced babes** to ride out the apocalypse. Because clearly the best placed people to effectively rebuild civilization post end of the world are financiers who've never done a day's practical work in their lives and think 'altruism' is something you tell people you'll do later.

* literally, it was Bankman-Fried's little brother trying to organise it
