Combat as conversation
Aug. 11th, 2023 03:29 pm I've been watching rather a lot of youtube this week and I was particularly struck by this vid by Jill Bearup. She's ostensibly dissecting the Raleigh-Mako fight scene from Pacific Rim, but in doing that she talks about how a combat scene is a continuation of storytelling through other means.
Raleigh "It's a dialogue, not a fight".
