... I have gin again. Also food, and a prescription, but mostly gin.

I left the house about half-past two and given the amount I'd ordered, I left the chair and took crutches instead to maximise the space in the car. First up was my prescription, so I drove over to Rochester and parked opposite the chemist's in Blue Boar Lane Car Park, which it's normally impossible to get a space in, but this time there were under 25 cars vs its capacity of 130+. There was a sign at the entrance to the chemists saying "only three people in the shop at one time" and four people queueing in front of me. One got in straight away, then nothing happened for a long time, during which the woman immediately in front of me left, and several more arrived. One was an elderly gentleman in shorts with both legs bandaged, I was just wondering if I should offer him my place when the woman behind me said to him "Look, I'm a volunteer, I'm picking up someone's prescription for them, and it's as easy for me to pick up two, so why don't you wait in your car and I'll bring it out to you." No sooner had she said that then the queue started moving - I think the issue was the chemist's is also the post-office, and they'd had several people doing complex postal stuff. The pharmacist's counter had a perspex screen that isn't normally there, and all the staff were wearing masks. I walked up, asked for my prescription, was handed it and told "we'll handle all the signatures", which is quite a change from the normal. Total time in the shop, probably two minutes.

So I then headed up to Asda on the outskirts of Chatham for my click&collect order. By this time it was just after 3PM, which would put us into the start of Friday rush-hour normally. There were cars on the road, but more quiet afternoon volumes than Friday rush-hour. I found the click&collect point easily enough, told one of the staff who I was and he disappeared for a while before coming back out with a loaded trolley. My first thought on seeing how high it was piled was "I'm going to need a bigger car". But fortunately it all fitted. The Asda website had suggested they were loading the car for you, but actually they were bringing the trolley to the back of your car and leaving you to put everything in, and in fact it fitted with plenty of room to spare. Just as I was reversing out, the heavens opened, so I'd timed that about right. The people queuing to get into the shop were less lucky. Back home and car unloaded by about 4PM

Anyway, I'm home, and I have food and booze, even if the food is still scattered over the floor of the kitchen rather than put away (well, the frozen stuff is put away, but at that point I said "I need a beer" and left the rest of it).

By my reckoning that's 29 days since I last had a food delivery, and while I could have gone on a lot longer, menus were getting more and more boring, so the change is going to be welcome.
