An Appropriate Result...

We won last night's quiz, which was only appropriate as it was in memory of our friend Ray, who died last year of MND, and we were his quiz team as often as not. Definitely one we had to win. (And £600+ raised for the MND charity).

The quiz master was a bit too fond of gimmicky rounds for my liking, but the answer I'm most proud of was working out "20 BIAN" was "20 bottles in a Nebuchanezzar". Mostly as I didn't think I'd get any of those, cryptic puzzles aren't my strongpoint.

Oh, and thankfully, given various members of my DW circle, we managed to spell Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Wisconsin correctly (lots of arguments about single or double esses).

Disappointingly (or luckily), despite making sure we had a bellringer on our team - Ray was a very well known ringer and it was organised by the cathedral bellringers - there were no questions on the minutiae of bellringing.
