Autism Women's Network: Disability Doesn't Come With Extra Time and Energy
What's missing from the discussion is that disabled people work harder because of the fear of losing their job, and the difficulty of finding one, in the face of workplace disablism. So when people misinterpret it as some positive, that's three separate layers of disablism being compounded into one positive.

Date: 2017-06-06 03:03 am (UTC)I once read this article addressed to potential employers, on why they should employ disabled people, on a government-funded disability employment website, that stated that in so many words -- it actually came out and said that we'd be "loyal employees" who would stay in the job longer because it's harder for us to find a job.
I just. Can we NOT tell employers things about us that amount to "please abuse and exploit this population, they won't stand up for themselves or leave"?
