Theresa May just announced on national TV she's going to give Trump a bollocking over leaked intelligence.

That's an unprecedented level of criticism.

After the Papal slapping yesterday, when he was very pointedly given a copy of the Encyclical on Climate Change, Trump's not having the greatest  European trip.

This must be the first time Theresa May and I have ever agreed on anything. It's too bad we won't get footage of said bollocking...

In effect I think we did. Her announcement on national TV, and then the confirmation in at least one interview that she was going to do it triggered him into getting his arse in gear and doing something before she ever got to him.

But what that means behind the scenes is that Amber Rudd's complaints about this as Home Secretary, plus the complaints out of the UK intelligence apparatus, were completely ignored by Trump's Attorney General, Rudd's rough equivalent, and by his Director of National Security, which continues to paint a picture of an administration riven with chaotic incompetence that doesn't give damn for the opinions of allies.
