His name is given, Ninip, which didn't ring a bell, but now I think to google him (I was stuck without web access when I read this), it's an alternate transliteration of Ninurta, the Akkadian god of war and hunting (aka Nimrod). The back story that's given appears partially consistent with the wiki entry for the Assyrian king Tukulti-Ninurta I, 1243–1207 BC.
