The snow is now that inch-thick turned to ice crust that can hang on for days - and as we're having completely clear night skies, it probably will. According to my phone the temperature here at the moment (and I just walked down the road from my mother's to my sister's, so I can confirm it's brrrr!!!!) is -4c, feels like -8c. (25F, feels like 17F). My sister just had me reprogramme the overnight central heating temperature at my mother's to something much more reasonable than the 6C frost protection setting it's been on by default.
I don't envy the folks in Scotland they're forecasting -17C/1.5F for tonight!
