I wasn't planning to post until tomorrow, but last night's dream, which I had intended to post about, just popped back into my head after forgetting about it and I'll probably forget it again if I don't  post something now. 

The dream explicitly built on Charles Stross's Laundry Files, but had the Laundry setting up a covert offshoot (so a bit like the reality behind the in-series Mahogany Row), but in this case the offshoot was a merchant bank. That's pretty much all that I remember, other than that when I half-woke up after the dream I remember saying "fuck, that had the plot of a complete novel", so there was clearly more to it at the time. It's just such a bizarre idea, though the utility of a tame bank to an intelligence service is pretty obvious.
