I checked the local Covid stats for the first time in a while today. We're a bit below average on infection rates - 445.8/100k.

But then I looked at the vaccination data:

Nationally:

1st Dose:  89%
2nd Dose: 81.1%
3rd Dose: 37.8%

Across the whole town

1st Dose:  79.5%
2nd Dose: 72.4%
3rd Dose: 30.6%

My local MSOA*:

1st Dose:  63%
2nd Dose: 56.2%
3rd Dose:  No data

Bear in mind nowhere in the local MSOA was further than 15 minutes walk from the local mass vaccination centre, which was in its geographic centre/the local shopping mall. and in most cases they'd  barely be 10 minutes away. And this is the general area where the Kent variant took off, so plenty of warning of how bad things could get.

There's probably socio-economic stuff at work, but with those stats I don't see us staying below the national average for long.

MSOA = Middle Layer Super Output Area = c7200 people.
