Not so Disability Confident...
Oct. 18th, 2018 09:10 pmDWP faces nearly 60 disability discrimination tribunal cases in 20 months
Bear in mind that the Department of Work and Pensions doesn't just hold Disability Confident Leader status, which commits it to working with disabled employees to retain them in employment, and to continual self-assessment on how it can do it better, it's the architect and coordinator of the whole damned scheme!
And those nearly sixty claims overlap the period when the Tories were charging for bringing an Employment Tribunal case, and extra for discrimination cases, which the Supreme Court struck down as unlawfully discriminatory, which had resulted in a massive reduction in bringing ET cases. Given the time limits on bringing an ET case (BTDT), I'd guess the true figure should be at least double.
And the article has comments by yours truly.
I was utterly boggled by DWP tweeting today that Disability Confident can help you keep disabled employees in their positions. They truly have no shame.
