I was going to say the weather continues to be ridiculously mild - 10C and higher, but it dropped to 1C yesterday and we had a dusting of snow overnight. On average it's still been ridiculously mild.

Christmas dinner with Dad at his care home, pretty good, though my brother-in-law continued the new family tradition of one of us being too ill to make it. Nothing serious, but it's rare he's off his food. He made it to Boxing Day, though,

I have been managing to write while I'm here, an editing pass on one short story and a major rewrite on another, which has gone from 6000 words to 8000, most of them new, two more scenes to write and then I start trying to cut it down, with 7500 words as my target. I decided the novel rewrite for the Angry Robot submisssion window wasn't happening, I lost too much time at the start of the month to do it justice. I'll pick it up in January and do it right, rather than rush it. OTOH one of my Pitchwars peers just had his cover reveal for his first novel from Angry Robot - Smoke Eaters -firefighters vs dragons is such a brilliant concept, and the cover is stunning.
