Yeah, I probably haven't re-read it in 15 years and I really didn't recall much. I know I picked it up sometime in the late-90s, early 2000s when I was hitting the London bookstores a couple of times a year and hunting down Cherryhs I didn't have. Picked up a lot of the early books in relatively cheap second-hand hardcovers. This one is the first bookclub edition (which is the actual first edition) with a very pulpish cover with a Majat curling around Raen, whose jumpsuit bizarrely seems to have jodhpur style thighs - it's the pic at the top of the wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serpent%27s_Reach
