... when you come half-awake, try to roll over, and feel the laptop start to slide off your chest.....
I'm quite impressed I almost managed to grab it in mid-air, but I didn't quite. Fortunately it landed on its end, had only dropped about a foot and seems to be fine.
But that was not my favourite way to wake up.

Instead of plugging in, the power cord ends in a male-ish magnet connector, with a female-ish magnetic socket on the machine. A light touch on the cord disconnects the power; it cannot trip you or pull the laptop off the table.
Foolishly, Apple has dropped the MagSafe in its newest models in favor of USB C.
