Bendy Dreams

It's rare enough that I remember dreams, and disability tends to be a bit inconsistent in them. But last night/this morning was the first time I've dreamed of being hypermobile. Of course being a dream it couldn't just simply be 'Oh, you're bendy', no, I had managed to dislocate both left shoulder and right knee. Which is a slightly odd combination as while my left shoulder is dodgy, it's the right one that subluxes, and my right knee is one of the few joints I rarely have issues with.

I suspect the trigger for the dream was writing down notes for my wheelchair assessment next week. I don't recall the 'plot' per se of the dream, but whatever had caused the dislocations, I ended up being treated by itinerant Americans who for some reason had taken over a British hospital. It's logic, Jim, but not as we know it.

uh, this is pretty necro, but i found your account thru kaberett's wheelchair buying guide, and i'm looking to be getting my first sometime soon... (guess what my name's a reference to >.>)

but i wanted to comment on this one to say: christ waiting room hell is the worst. i usually wear headphones even if i'm not listening to music, though if i'm going to be in the room long enough i'll sometimes play some hearthstone (since i can't get out to play mtg anymore, and the nearest games shop that does it is in a basement down some stairs, i think with a wheelchair lift though but an unreliable one.)

I suspect you meant this to go to the thread about waiting rooms setting my hip off, but I know exactly what you mean! Fortunately avoided it so far this year, but had far too much of it last year.

i was thinking about saying that just last night i'd had a dream wherein i used my walking stick for once, but wasn't sure if it was worth bringing up.
