You picked the wrong number....

Just had a frightfully posh Tory volunteer on the phone trying to convince me to vote Tory. I'd say I gave him short shrift, but he didn't get off that easily, it was definitely long shrift!

He seemed to make a definite effort to avoid discussing national issues, but I started with the disabled people killed by DWP sanctions, the increasingly corrupt nature of disability assessments, and then segued into their deliberate attempt to court the Reform vote by returning to their Nasty Party roots, throwing up first immigrants, then trans people, and then disabled people (again) as objects for hate. Told him they were deliberately indulging in bigotry to court the racist vote.

Poor guy barely got a word in edgeways.

Honestly, you'd think they'd have a note against my number saying 'Lost Cause', or possibly 'Flee, you fools!'.

bwahahaha
We keep getting Tory leaflets. I think this is because as a household, we are professionals, living in an area where lots of people (not us) own their own homes*, having gone to Oxbridge and got degrees and OBVIOUSLY we are natural Tory voters. Mysteriously their election material is being forwarded to the compost heap, much like the Tory party.

*Technically I am a homeowner. I just don't currently live in it, because it's in the wrong city and I would like to sell it (and buy a house where I do live) just as soon as the Land Registry deign to admit I own it and can sell it. (The executors, OTOH, have left it to me to sell on the grounds that they can't be arsed with the hassle.)

Haha! I had a Reform candidate leaflet through my door. I took petty satisfaction in tearing it to shreds and stomping on it before putting it in the recycling.

We've not had a Reform leaflet here. We've had a leaflet for a candidate in the next-door constituency (about 1m west of us), and one from our local anti-congestion charging wanker, and a couple of sadly optimistic Tory leaflets (in a constituency where their vote has been below 20% for over 20 years), but Reform have so far (with only a few hours to go) decided not to waste the paper.

Imagine being a phonebanking Tory volunteer this cycle. The level of abuse they must be getting.
