Thanks, that's definitely preferable to the Navy's Thursday toast - 'A bloody war or a sickly season' (and a quick promotion), even if I do feel a bit more like the second option!
I made it to Durham without any trauma, though the journey did show just how much the pancreatitis had taken out of me and I was glad my sister picked me up at Darlington, saving me a 40 minute wait on the platform and half an hour rattling (literally!) along the local line to Bishop Auckland. I'm still feeling pretty washed out two days later - possibly not surprising given weighing myself revealed I lost 8% of my body mass in a week. I can't see any difference, but family and friends tell me I look like I've been ill.
The plan is to stay up here for about three weeks, both to see my dad ( who was delighted when I saw him today) and hopefully to recuperate enough that people aren't telling me I look ill any more!
