I started building in deliberate me-time when I visit a few years ago. I'm pretty much dependent on the family for mobility when I'm up there - no car, and too far on the outskirts to get anywhere without one, so needing time on my own was something I had to make a deliberate effort to provide for. No net doesn't help. The current arrangement where I'm left alone for half the day because my mother is out seeing my father at the care home actually works better for me in some ways. WRT the net, my sister (half a dozen doors down the road) says 'you can come and use ours', but doesn't really appreciate that the net is something I use constantly, rather than occasionally. In some ways its easier not to use it at all, than to take her up on her offer and get intermittent reminders of what I'm missing.
