We had decently sized flakes up until midday-ish, then it turned to smaller stuff you could still see if you looked outside. When I stuck my head outside just before sunset it had turned to fine, penetrating rain, but if the temperature is sub-zero (just) then that's likely to turn everything into a skating rink in the morning.

My honeysuckle has rather pathetically collapsed under the 'weight' of snow.
