Exciting Black Friday Purchases...

... a small monitor stand, a longer monitor lead, and a 16Gb flash drive. Total expenditure under £30. The longer monitor lead I needed because new PC has the monitor socket closer to the floor and the existing one won't reach (so the PC's stuck on the desk at the moment). 3m might be a touch more than I need, but opens up the range of possibilities. The flash drive was to create a recovery disk for Windows (which has apparently decided actual discs are passe), and the monitor stand was something I noticed when shopping for the other two and is a better solution than the existing couple of small plastic boxes I had the monitor balanced on (plus matches the black wood desk, which white plastic boxes didn't). Everything turned up on Sunday.

Exciting Cyber Monday purchases: two more flash drives. The Friday one is neat enough I wanted one for my key ring, the other is an ultra-compact one I'll leave permanently in a spare USB slot on the laptop as additional non-volatile storage.

A very last minute Cyber Monday purchase (i.e. well into Tuesday), as a reward for finally getting something done I'd been putting off, was a couple of PDF supplements for the Laundry Files RPG - which gave me something to read, and occasionally chortle over, on the train back and forth to London last night.
