We've Been Told to Cut Down on Referrals

I've got a new post up at Where's the Benefit, based on a rather disturbing conversation with my GP this morning.

This whole thing's terrifying. I feel paranoid saying it, but it's as if the attacks on the NHS are a further attempt to starve us out.

We can't do anything right.

Is it ok if I add you? I follow WTB and think the work you're all doing is amazing, because I feel like at least somebody is on my side, at least someone knows this fear.

Absolutely on adding me, the more the merrier.

Thanks for the compliment, it's just such a pity WTB is necessary.

It is a shame, but thanks to WtB I feel like I'm not sat alone in the house going crazy with worry on my own!

Thanks for that link, it's disturbing to see people citing UK policy as a good example, when it's clear to us on the ground what the reality is. Still, it fits in all too uncomfortably with my latest article.

I wondered why I was getting the impression that the health service was just there to waste people's time and keep them disabled...I have had the feeling that healthcare was being rationed for the last year or so, because every time I go and ask about help for another part of my body which is conking out, I get the reply, "Wait..."

Now all has become clear. I am not going mad. It's true.
