Sounds like a fantastic trip even if you're in spoon debt for ages as a result. I'd love to learn to sail, but have yet to have the time to find a place near me (I'm in the US) that will do adapted sailing as I certainly can't balance enough to walk on a boat anymore!
I'm another bendy type with C7 nerve issues. I've been doing physio for it, but the only thing that's been really effective is doing traction (not necessarily recommended for bendies, but I've been fine with it and we're being really careful.) Sadly it's not helping enough, but I figured I'd mention it in case that knowledge helps you at all for dealing with your doctor.
